Just a little news, info, comment and discussion.

Ferries and the EU

Activity is still high on the issue of ferry tendering, and it’s possibly a pity that there has to be so much politics involved, together with rulings and legislation from bureaucrats that reside many miles away and have more concern with matters of law than catching a ferry. That’s not to say they’re no relevant, just that the levels of urgency may differ from those at a local level, and the wider implications may not be evident.

It is possibly unfortunate that this process is continuing to move in the direction of political name-calling and posturing of the various political factions involved – that generally signals an outcome with no overall winner, and that those affected by the subject will end up being losers.

As usual, the Dunoon Observer online carries theĀ  story, see November 24, 2006.
